The Role
You will be working in a very busy plating and jigging department at this prestigious Aerospace company that has a reputation for high quality and superb finishes. As the Electroplating Manager, you will run the plating plant and manage the Plating Department’s highly skilled professionals.
You will receive full support and any training that is necessary to realise your management potential.
The Plating department is a large, well-ventilated space and is fully fitted with Local Exhaust Ventilation (LEV) systems and monsoon fans.Annual biological monitoring, LEV testing and Occupational Health testing is conducted to ensure your safety. You will also be fully providedwith all of the PPE and will be taught the safe systems of work in each to perform your job safely. You will help in the management andimplementation of the health and safety and environmental procedures across the factory floor. You may be required to participate in riskassessments, Incident and spill response, fire safety, and general compliance support.
All work is carried out to EN9100 standard, which is an aerospace standard based on the ISO 9001 quality system requirements.
You will be working on parts for luxury first class suites of airlines, Prestige automotive brands and super yachts, among other interesting, high-quality parts. You will manage your team to ensure that deadlines are met, and the work is completed to the best standard possible.
A Production Meeting is held every morning to plan out the work schedule and priorities for the day and for the week. It will be your responsibility to ensure that the department meets the work schedule. You will work closely with the Head of Operations, as well as the Managing Director to help facilitate workflow and deal with technical issues.
You will wire the metal parts on to jigs so that the product can be lowered into the plating tanks. You will then be running the jigs through the various plating tank lines, required by the process, to apply the plating finishes to the part. These will then be de-jigged and given to the Quality Inspectors to check.
Lamberts London uses real metal in our plating solutions and as such you will be working with expensive solutions. You will be directly responsible for transforming aluminium, brass or steel components to Gold, Silver, Rhodium and many other exclusive finishes.
You will work closely with the Laboratory Technician and our plating suppliers in solution analysis to ensure these are running efficiently and engage in solution and finish testing for compliance and validation purposes.
You will also work with the Managing Director on technical queries and business development opportunities.
